The Department of Physics currently has master's programs in the first-level discipline of physics, master's programs in the first-level discipline of electronic science and technology, doctoral programs in the second-level discipline of low dimensional material physics, as well as two undergraduate majors in electronic science and technology and applied physics. It has teaching and research platforms such as the National Engineering Basic Course Physics Teaching Base, Beijing Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, and Beijing Key Laboratory of Environmental Hazardous Chemical Substance Analysis, providing strong support for talent cultivation and scientific research.

The Physics Department currently has 55 full-time teachers, including 14 professors, 31 associate professors, and 6 doctoral supervisors; One outstanding talent from the Ministry of Education in the new century, one hundred from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, one renowned teaching teacher from Beijing, and one thousand young people; One ideological and political education teaching team from the Ministry of Education and one excellent teaching team from Beijing. 96.4% of teachers hold doctoral degrees.

In recent years, the Department of Physics has undertaken more than 80 national and provincial-level scientific research projects in scientific research, including the National Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Beijing Natural Science Foundation, and the GF Project. It has won multiple provincial-level and above scientific research achievements awards, including the Second Prize of Military Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Prize of Shaanxi Province Higher Education Science and Technology Award, the First Prize of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Science and Technology Award, and the Second Prize of China Circular Economy Association Science and Technology Award. It has published over 300 academic papers.
