College of Mathematics and Physics Successfully Hosts 2026 Academic Competition Awards Ceremony

Time:2026-06-30

On the evening of May 28, the College of Mathematics and Physics held its "2026 Academic Competition Awards Ceremony" at the Changping Campus. The event was attended by members of the college’s leadership team, representatives from the Academic Affairs Office, all competition instructors, and student awardees from various grade levels. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Su Guifu, Associate Dean of the college.

Professor Su opened by congratulating the award-winning students across all disciplines and expressing sincere gratitude to the instructors and staff who dedicated their time and effort to the competition work. He emphasized that academic competitions serve as a vital platform for cultivating high-quality innovative talents within the college. The outstanding achievements over the past year, he noted, are concrete evidence of the college’s talent-development model that "promotes teaching through competition, promotes research through competition, and integrates teaching with research."

Following his remarks, student representatives Jin Tianle and Wang Yiying shared their personal competition experiences and reflections on growth, expressing their gratitude for the support they received from the university and their mentors along the way. They described academic competitions as "keys to unlocking scientific research exploration" and encouraged more students to actively participate, hone their skills through practice, and continuously improve their innovative, practical, and interdisciplinary abilities.

Professor Su then read out the "Decision on Honoring Student Awardees in Academic Competitions for the 2025–2026 Academic Year." Award presenters successively conferred certificates and prizes to representatives of international, national, and provincial-level winners. The certificates and awards in the students’ hands were not only well-deserved recognition of their past efforts but also a strong encouragement for their future journeys in innovation and exploration. The atmosphere was both solemn and celebratory.

This ceremony served both as a comprehensive review of the college’s competition work over the past academic year and as a powerful mobilization for future educational endeavors. With the collective efforts of all faculty and students, the college is poised to further leverage academic competitions as a bridge to enhance the quality of innovative talent cultivation, thereby contributing to the university’s "Double First-Class" initiative.
