College of Mathematics and Physics Successfully Holds "Li·XiangJia" Distinguished Alumni Forum: Exploring Large Model Application Scenarios.

On the morning of November 15, the "Li·XiangJia" Distinguished Alumni Forum organized by the College of Mathematics and Physics was held at the Truth Hall on the Changping Campus. Mr. Li Dahai, a Director of Zhihu Company, Distinguished Member of the China Computer Federation (CCF), Co-founder & CEO of Facewall Intelligence, and an outstanding alumnus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, delivered a special report titled "Exploring Large Model Application Scenarios." Wang Lijun, Party Secretary of the College of Mathematics and Physics, along with over 300 faculty and students, attended the forum. The forum was hosted by Yang Ming, Deputy Party Secretary of the College.

Alumnus Li Dahai began his talk by discussing the two major drivers leading the large model industry towards maturity. Using vivid examples and rigorous logic, he provided students with a more intuitive and profound understanding of AI models. Subsequently, he focused on outlining future trends in AI development and the application scenarios promoted by Facewall Intelligence to integrate AI into various aspects of life. Throughout the lecture, Alumnus Li Dahai's explanations were clear, logical, and delivered with strong, engaging language. After the presentation, he warmly interacted with students on-site, answering their questions and addressing their doubts.

This forum marked the first event of the College's "Li·XiangJia" Distinguished Alumni Forum series. Moving forward, the College will continue to invite outstanding alumni to return and share their entrepreneurial experiences and career journeys with students. These sessions aim to showcase cutting-edge technological innovations, inspire students to learn from these exemplary alumni, and support their growth and development.


Introduction of the Distinguished Alumnus:

Li Dahai is the Co-founder and CEO of Facewall Intelligence and a Co-founder of Zhihu. In 2006, he became a founding employee of Google China, where he gained extensive practical experience in the search field. In 2015, he joined Zhihu as CTO, leading core technology research and development and contributing to Zhihu's dual listing. In 2023, he assumed the role of CEO at Facewall Intelligence. He proposed the Density Law for large models and led the team in developing edge-side large models like MiniCPM, with MiniCPM-o2 reaching the level of GPT-4o. He has facilitated collaborations between the company and partners such as Huawei and Great Wall Motor to deploy multi-scenario applications. With years of entrepreneurial and management experience, he has become an influential practitioner in the AI field, contributing numerous constructive ideas for the industry's development.
