The third session of "Xishu·Wuli" high-level academic lecture series was successfully held in College of Mathematics and Physics on December 5th in the Qiuzhen Lecture Hall at Changping Campus. Researcher Zhang Zhitao from the Institute of Mathematics and Systems Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was invited to give an academic report entitled "Henon-Lane-Emden Conjecture and Related Schrodinger Systems". More than 200 graduate students, undergraduates and faculty members from the Changping Campus attended the lecture.

Wang Wei, Dean of the College of Mathematics and Physics, presided over the lecture. He introduced the background and original intention of the "Analysis of Numbers and Understanding of Principles" series of high-end academic lectures, hoping to create a strong academic atmosphere through academic lectures, broaden the academic horizons of teachers and students, strengthen academic exchanges, further improve the scientific research level of teachers, and improve the quality of talent training in the college.

Researcher Zhang Zhitao gave a detailed lecture on the famous Henon-Lane-Emden-conjecture in the field of nonlinear partial differential equations, pointing out that the conjecture is of great significance to the study of a priori estimates, existence and internal regularity of solutions to elliptic Schrodinger systems. In recent decades, many famous mathematicians have devoted themselves to the study of the Henon-Lane-Emden conjecture. The study of the conjecture is extremely difficult because of the existence of weight functions and nonlinear terms in the Schrodinger system, especially the possibility of supercritical growth of a certain indicator. In 2018, Researcher Zhang Zhitao and his collaborators completely solved the Henon-Lane-Emden conjecture in three-dimensional space, that is, there is no classical correct solution in the whole space when the Henon-Lane-Emden system is subcritical.

In the interactive communication session, Researcher Zhang Zhitao patiently answered every question raised by the students, had extensive and in-depth exchanges with young teachers, and gave constructive opinions and suggestions on how young teachers can do scientific research well.

In the future, the college will continue to create an academic atmosphere, coordinate the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talents, promote the deep integration of basic research and industrialization in the whole chain, serve the high-quality development of the college with high-level scientific research, and make more contributions to the school's innovative talent training.
